NOTE: "User Account Extension" requests are no longer required for Short Term Employees and Student Assistants. Account status for these employees will be synchronized with the end dates and rehire dates in Colleague, maintained by the Human Resources department and Employment & Internships Office.
- If you supervise a Short Term Employee or Student Assistant and you've submitted their rehire paperwork to the appropriate department, their account will automatically be extended to their new end date.
- If there is a gap between their old position end date and new position rehire date, their account will be suspended and reactivated according to those dates.
- If there is no gap (e.g. the employee's old position ends on June 30th and the new position starts on July 1st), the account will remain active throughout.

- If you are hiring a new Short Term Employee/Student Assistant, or if a Short Term Employee/Student Assistant is changing positions, please create a new User Account Request IT ticket.
For Contractors, Volunteers, and Generic Accounts (i.e. cabrillohr@cabrillo.edu):
- These accounts remain active for a maximum of one year, with an end date of June 30 (the end of the fiscal year).
- To request an extension for a contractor, volunteer, or generic account, click “Request Service” on the right side of this page and enter the required information.
- Please submit requests at least two weeks (10 business days) in advance.
- Submit a separate form for each individual user or account for which you are requesting a User Account Extension.
