Microsoft OneDrive Use (Windows)

  1. Click on the “File Explorer” icon in your taskbar.

  2. Select the “OneDrive” folder on the left-hand side.

  3. Enter your full Cabrillo.edu email address and click “Sign in”.

  4. Complete the verification process with Okta.

  5. When prompted with a “More information required” pop-up, select “Next.”

  6. In the “Start by getting the App” section, choose “I want to use a different Authenticator app.”

  7. Click “Next” on the “Set up your Account” window.

  8. Open your authenticator app on your phone. Note: Okta Verify was used for this demonstration.

  9. Click on the “+” sign in the top right corner of the app.

  10. Select “Organization” as the account type.

  11. Skip adding an account from another device.

  12. When prompted, choose “Scan QR Code.”

  13. Back on the Windows message, click “Next” and enter the 6-digit code from the authenticator app.

  14. From the “Your OneDrive Folder” screen, click “Next.”

  15. Click “Next” on the “Get to Know Your OneDrive” page.

  16. Click “Next” on the “Share Files and Folders” page.

  17. Click “Next” on the “All your files, ready and on-demand” section.

  18. Click “Later” on the “Get the mobile app” prompt.

  19. Click “Open my OneDrive folder.”
     

  20. You may notice a refresh icon on the folders under the OneDrive folder; this is normal and will change once they have been synced to your OneDrive.

  • How much storage do I have? 
    • Each user is allocated 100GB of storage in OneDrive.
  • If I switch from Mac to PC or PC to Mac, will my files still save?
    • Files synchronized from both a PC and a Mac should be available to an end-user that switches between both devices. However, they may only be available via the OneDrive web portal due to file/folder discrepancies between MacOS and Windows.
