Changes to District Wi-Fi: Retirement of "CabrilloCampus" Network

Body

What is happening:  CabrilloCampus” Wi‑Fi network will be retired as part of our ongoing network consolidation plan.

When it's happening:

  • July 20, 2026: The CabrilloCampus network name (SSID) will be hidden. Devices that were previously connected to CabrilloCampus will continue to be able to connect. However, the CabrilloCampus wireless network will not appear in the list of available wireless networks.
  • August 3, 2026: The CabrilloCampus network will be permanently disabled.

What to do: To ensure your devices retain connectivity, please transition them to our active networks based on the guidelines below.

  • Primary District Networks:
    • Employees should continue to connect Cabrillo-provisioned devices to the secure-hawknet network using their username and password.
    • Students should continue to use the hawknet network for their instructional needs.
  • The "Cabrillo Guest" Wi‑Fi network is available and should be used by:
    • Guests and visitors (No more need to set up guest Wi-Fi access for hosted events!)
    • All personal devices (mobile phones and laptops)
    • Any student or employee experiencing difficulty connecting to the primary secure networks
  • Note: Specialized Devices - If you have devices that cannot interact with a web login portal (such as IoT or smart devices), please submit an IT Support Request with the following information:
